Parish update, december 1, 2020

12/1/2020

MASS SIGN UP CHANGE - With the most recent gathering restrictions we can now have up to 75 people at each Mass. We will continue to check in at the door using a master list. For the Sunday morning Mass please continue to call in or email to sign up. For Saturday evening Masses and Holy Days you do not need to sign up because these Masses typically draw fewer than 75 people. Thank you for your patience with these ever changing sign up procedures. Call, 503-633-4611 or email stpaulparish@stpaultel.com
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION HOLY DAY VIGIL MASS, MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 6:00 PM. No need to sign up for this Mass in advance.
EDWARD MURPHY, FATHER OF MICHAEL & BILL MURPHY, PASSED AWAY LAST WEEKEND. Please keep Edward and his family in your prayers.

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS COLLECTION  - "Every dollar makes a difference in covering our expenses," says a Trappist abbot. Hundreds of US religious communities struggle to provide for aging members because most senior Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests served for little pay. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for Religious helps these communities bridge the gap, offering support for medications, nursing care, and other necessities. Please be generous.

The Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows are hosting two Advent events in December at Our Lady of Peace Retreat House in Beaverton.
Join us for the Annual Advent Day Retreat with Bishop Peter Smith on the theme: “Making Advent Meaningful” on Wed. Dec. 2nd from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm in the Retreat Chapel.  We have reached our capacity for “in house” retreatants.  However, we are offering a virtual option to this retreat on Zoom at no cost.  Interested retreatants must register online at www.olpretreat.org to attend the retreat via Zoom.
Come to our Advent Twilight Talk “In-Person” with Catholic Speaker Dina Marie Hale on Wed. Dec. 9th from 6:30 – 8:30 pm in the Retreat Chapel.  The event includes a Twilight Talk on the theme: “A Trek to Tepeyac Hill with Saint Juan Diego” followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  Light refreshments will be offered and the Catholic Bookstore and Gift Shop will be open.  Due to physical distance guidelines registration is limited to 30 persons.  Free registration is required and available online at www.olpretreat.org.
Please note masks must be worn in the Retreat House.  For questions call 503-649-7127 or visit www.olpretreat.org.  Our Lady of Peace Retreat House is located at 3600 SW 170th Ave., Beaverton, Oregon 97003.
